Symbolism in Gold and Yellow Gatsby’s illusions is revealed to the readers of the book through symbols such as he’s yellow and the others are gold. “The orchestra is playing yellow cocktail music,” “Two girls in twin yellow dresses,” against “here’s my little gold pencil.” and “Jordan’s slender golden arm,”

Introduction :

If you could turn back time and rewrite your wrongs knowing they will have consequences in the future, would you ? The famous book ‘The Great Gatsby’ by author F.Scott Fitzgerald takes you through the summer of illusion covered madness that is the summer of 7 key characters living In New York and how a man sacrifices all to try the love of his life. Fitzgerald uses the concept of symbolism to unveil illusion through key objects being Water, The green light and Gold vs Yellow in the novel ‘The Great Gatsby’. Throw my analysis of these symbols I will discuss about the idea of how the no matter how strong your story and illusion is, the present is superior and will always come back to haunt you.

 

Body Paragraph 1:

Throughout the Story, Water is represented as the past and how the past is preventing Gatsby from fulfilling his goal of winning Daisy back. Water is whats preventing Gatsby from reaching Daisy literally and metaphorically. water separates
