The first aspect that shows how love island sets unrealistic and impossible relationship standards for the modern day teenager is the stereotypes set by the show. In the current Love Island Australia “which is a banger I must add,”  All the boys are over 6 foot tall, apart from wee jax loltan and absolute gym sharks with biceps the size of trees and abs as hard as rocks. While all the girls are small, tan and fit with fatless bikini bods you see on the covers of the hottest magazine. This controls and manipulates the perspective of hundreds of thousands of the Audience of teenagers into believing that to find the love as shown in the show you too have to live up to these harsh and nearly impossible to achieve standards. They then go on an on and on and on and on and on and on about there types on paper. This once again forces the idea of the typical “Tall dark and handsome or blonde and blue eyes into the media to be once again consumed by the binge watching vulnerable teanagers

The second aspect that shows how love island sets unrealistic and impossible relationship standards for the modern day teenagers is the unrealistic nature of the show. First of all the whole concept is absolutely wack. Can someone tell me how 10 hot singles that have never met before just end up in the same place for six weeks and just magically fall in love in the “outside world as they like to call it,” No you cant because its crazy. Another completely unrealistic part of the show which negatively influences the watching teenagers is that the survival of a couple is  dependant on being in a couple that the viewer see as both emotionally compatible and physically appealing. And as we all know real relationships can’t be puppetted around by people surrounding them so why display this to hundreds of thousands of
